KEYSTONE R-8 8 MM PROJECTOR OWNER MANUAL VINTAGE COLLECTABLE ALL ORIGINAL :
$116.99

UP FOR sale : Keystone Model-R8 8mm Projector ........................... A cousin of mine once told me that Gramps was the cutting edge of film & photography. And he wasn\'t just whistling dixie!! I don\'t know the date of this machine, I\'m guessing mid to late 40\'s.... best guess. Missing is the pick-up wheel, which can be had online easy, may not be original, but it will work. The main drive belt is gone on this one, but the 2 steel wire wheel belts are there. To be really honest with you, you are probably going to have to break down and buy the whole set of belts for this one. What you are seeing in the pics is the total embarrassment. Yes, those are your typical run of the mill household / office rubber bands on that main drive pulley. In order to test this thing, I had to use something. As it turns out, the o-ring gaskets I had were too small, but, of course the bands worked. The test........... The manual book says not to use any other oil than the one prescribed by Keystone. Well they\'re gone a long, long time ago, and we have to take care of these things. I used the super- high tech Zep™ 45 lubricant to oil all points on it. Just for the doubters, here is the on-line specs for Zep™ 45 lube :
  • An advanced formulation of specialized oils blended with micron-size particles of Teflon lubrication (the slipperiest substance known to mankind) and VydaxFluorotelomer Dispersion provide superior lubrication.
  • Long lasting
  • Zep 45 dramatically reduces friction and provides a continuous wear-resistant film that lubricates and protects all moving parts.
  • Penetrates rapidly
  • Loosens parts that are frozen due to wear, corrosive action or heavy build-up of grease or grime.
  • Defends against
  • Prolongs the useful working life of all machinery and reduces down time and maintenance cost. Zep 45 corrosion passes corrosion resistance, salt spray and humidity requirements of MIL-C-23411A.
  • Dissolves grease
  • Cleans parts and provides easy access for subsequent inspection or repair.
  • Lubricating film remains effective in temperatures ranging from -55° to +475°F (-48°C to +246°C) temperature ranges.
  • Non-flammable
  • According to CSMA Flame Extension Test, Zep 45 is non-flammable, unlike many nationallyadvertised penetrating lubricants.
  • Contains PTFE
  • PTFE enhances lubrication performance and reduces friction.

Just for your info, MIL-SPEC is the United States military usage designation. The bulb is a 500w 120v Sylvania performance lamp. I know the bulb is a newer bulb because the originals were 500w 115v GE and had a stated life of 18-28 hours of runtime. The 120v\'s are supposed to have a 25-35% longer life. The machine runs- seemingly fine, though I have no film to test it with. The drive sprocket moves as it should, motor smooth, and the machinery pulley system is very smooth. All seems to run very smooth, but again, I don\'t have film to be the sure thing. Just as a reminder, the machine WILL NOT be shipped with those rubber bands............. One of the most striking things about this machine is the power cord. I had snapped a few pics of me putting a 180 degree bend in the 2/3 length of the cord. It seems as soft as the day that thing came off the showroom floor. I first thought that the cord was a replacement. Looked into it. IT IS NOT, IT\'S THE ORIGINAL !!!!! Told by several pros that is indeed original. Bottom line Gramps took extraordinary care of this machine. It runs no less smooth than a super- well oiled sewing machine!!THIS MACHINE WILL BE PACKED AS FOLLOWS:The bulb will be packed in it\'s own box, it is very sensitive. The lamp housing cover will be packed in its own box because it has NO restraint or fastener, it is loose. The remaining wire belts will be removed and packed in. The whole machine will be in it\'s original shipping box with an improved packing spacers.I HAVE ANOTHER AD WITH 12 MORE PICTURES OF THIS PROJECTOR, BE SURE TO CHECK IT OUT, IT IS ON THE SAME AD NAME........
All of Gramp\'s cameras /projectors were working when he left them to storage. If this one does not work in the proper manner just follow the return/refund instructions below. Thanks and happy offerding!!!!!
