LOOK! RARE! Vintage Newspaper Movie Block From 1943!:
$26.29

SUPER RARE NEWSPAPER PRINTING BLOCK FROM 1943! Here for your consideration is a really swell (in 1940s terms!) little movie block. This would have been used by a newspaper to print an advertisement for the film. In this case the film was Henry Aldrich Swings It. Henry was a character originally featured in a radio show, and then in a series of films starring Jimmy Lydon in the title role. This one was released in the early Summer of 1943. It was billed as "a comedy swingaroo!" With the war raging overseas, the U.S. needed films like this to take their minds off things for an hour or so. The block measures 6 cm X 3.8 cm X 2.2 cm H (2-1/2" X 1-1/2" X just under 1" H). It is solid wood with a solid copper printing plate. The title is stamped on both sides of the block. These blocks are getting scarcer by the day. Don't let this little gem slip through your fingers! HAPPY offerDING!
