Lacquer miniature box “Village fun” Russian box Hand made in Ukraine For Sale

The picturesque lacquer miniatures of the Fedoskino school are known all over the world. Fedoskino Russian boxes are created by masters by hand, painted with thin white tassels, silver or mother-of-pearl and paints created according to an ancient recipe. The mineral dye is mixed with egg yolk, water and vinegar, obtaining bright, rich colors.

The box shows a Village fun in 19 century.The casket depicts popular pastimes among the youth of the old days. The event takes place against the background of a summer rural landscape.

The box is made of papier mache and has a very interesting octagonal shape with a convex top and sides on eight legs. This Russian casket somewhat resembles the shape of a turtle shell.

The drawing is made in the Fedoskino technique, one of the styles of lacquer miniature, very thin and professional, the composition is thought out to the smallest detail, the drawing and the sides are framed with a thin gold ornament.Inside, the casket is traditionally painted red.In the final stage of the stage, the box is completely polished to a mirror shine.
