MINERALS : OUTSTANDING GROUP OF CROCOITE XTLS FROM ADELAIDE MINE WITH OLD LABEL For Sale

This is a beautiful specimen consisting of a mass of terminated crystals of lustrous and bright red CROCOITE on one side of a matrix of smaller CROCOITE crystals on all sides with some very minor light brown GIBBSITE from the famous Adelaide Mine, Dundas Mineral Field, Tasmania, Australia. The specimen is 5.1 by 4.9 by 3.7 cms in size or about 2.04 by 1.96 by 1.48 inches, weighs 132.3 grams, and comes with its original old label. Note that terminated crystals of CROCOITE are rare - less than 5% of CROCOITE crystals are ever terminated.
