BACKGROUND: The Chicago chapter of Friends of SNCC was founded by Fannie Rushing and Monroe Sharp.In 1963, they formed an alliance with members ofSouth SideCORE to organize aboycott of white businesses in downtown Chicago who refused to hirelacks and engaged in different forms of racial segregations.
