Manufacturedin Marion, Indiana, United States Radio & Television Corporation startedproducing radios in 1930 under different names such as: Apex; Argyle; Carlton;Case; Gloritone; Mantola; Melrose, and Radiotrope. I would consider thiscompany to be one of the more successful radio companies that prospered duringthe depression simply by merging several smaller companies into one moreefficient manufacturer to obtain greater market share.

“U.S.Radio & Television Corp.; - Trade names Apex, Argyle, Carlton, Case,Gloritone, Mantola, Melrose, \" In 1933 U.S. Radio & TelevisionCorporation merged with \"Grunow Corporation of Chicago\" forming a newcompany called \"General Household Utilities Company\". Their newcorporate leadership was led by: president, William C. Grunow and Mr. Coit as chairmanof the board; vice-presidents were H.C. Bonfig, & A.C. Winnan; treasurerwas J.P. Rogers, and R.R. Trimarco was the secretary”.
