• The map and schedule are printed back-to-back on a single sheet whichmeasures25 x 35.5 cm [9¾" x 14"].
• The schedule gives the departure dates and stops for each of the linersthen inservice for the Orient Steam Navigation Company:

• Condition: This original Orient Line map scheduleis in very good, lightly usedcondition, with minor wear, three vertical folds, and a couple of faintpencil updates froma previous owner on sailings from Brisbane.Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
• Three years after thisschedule was printed, with the advent of the First World War, all oftheOrient Line's ships were requisitioned for war service, with severallosses:
  • The Otway was torpedoed andsunk by German U-boat SM UC-49 off the Hebrides.
  
  
  • The Omrah was torpedoed andsunk by German submarine UB-52 40 nautical miles from Sardinia.
  
  
  • The Otranto,serving as a troop ship off theIsle of Islay in late 1918, accidentally collided with another troopship, HMS Kashmir and was forced ashore by thestorm, killing 470 passengers, mainly American soldiers, and crewmen.
  
  
  • The Orsova was damaged by amine laid by German submarine UC-68 and beached in Cornwall, but wasrepaired in Devonport and resumed the passenger service to Australiaroute in 1919.
