Original Antique Magic Lantern Slide \"Cellilo Falls\" by Asahel Curtis c. 1910 For Sale

This fine magic lantern slide was created by famed Seattle photographer Asahel Curtis (1874-1941). It features an original hand tinted photo of Cellilo Falls on the Columbia River. Cellilo Falls was among many falls and rapids the Columbai passed through on its way to the Pacific. At Celillo, the water cascaded over 40\' tall basalt cliffs that formed a horseshoe that nearly spanned the river. It was a major Indian fishing site for thousands of years. The falls were silenced and buried under many feet of water by the Dalles Dam.This magic lantern slide has Curtis\'s labels including his address (Colman Block) and the title of the slide and the remains of a negative number. The slide is 4.5\" x 3.25\". It is in very good original condition.
