QRS Combination Movie Camera and Projector 16 mm Vintage Complete, Green:
$100

This is a really amazing QRS Combination Movie Camera and Projector in 16 mm. The condition on this is fantastic given its age. The green colored paint has some crazing, but looks all orginal. Seems to be complete and includes the original case (which has some wear from age and a small crack in the lid, but is still solid, the handle is complete and the latch still latches), the camera, the motor (the motor does not turn when plugged in, but it may simply need to be lubricated - not sure), the light (which lights up when plugged in), the instruction book, the original unfilled out warranty card, the projector shutter, the winding key, the hand crank and the original envelope to hold some of the pieces. There is small strip of black material that was in the case that we believe is the light seal to the inside of the camera door, but are not sure. If it is, it could certainly be replaced or glued back in. Also included is a small screw in adaptor of the same vintage that was meant to screw into a light socket and allow you to plug it in there. Also is an Eastman Kodak film spool, an Eastman Kodak projector reel marked September 2, 1924 and on the back side it's marked not for camera use, and a reel that was clearly mailed separately to the projector owner after purchase because the box has the mailing address of the original owner (the Woods Music Company in Anthony, Kansas), an 11 cent postage stamp and is stamped that it was mailed insured on October 12, 1928. This reel was mailed directly from the QRS company, is marked with the QRS company logo and on the side of the box it lists the title of the reel as QRS - "Tiny Trouble" and under it Demonstrating Reel. Because of this demonstration reel, we think it is possible that this projector was a demonstrator or salesman sample used by QRS dealers to sell other projectors like it.

We found an ad online that showed this projector sold new for $98.50 - and that was back in 1928! That was a lot of money! So this was a high quality piece.

DeVry and QRS merged in 1929, we could not find any reference to DeVry in the papers or on the projector, and all of the dates in the materials are pre-1929, so we can only assume this projector was purchased before QRS merged with DeVry. Don't pass up this opportunity, as we've never seen something like this and certainly not in this pristine condition. This would make an amazing display for a collector.

The shipping and handling cost will be $35.00 within the continental United States. Alaska and Hawaii may have an additional cost.

Good Luck in offerding!
