The document measures approximately 16" x 13" and comes in a double-sided glass protective frame which measures approximately 17.25" x 14.25".
Charles Carroll of Carrollton was an Irish-American politician, planter, and signatory of the Declaration of Independence. He was the only Catholic signatory of the Declaration and the longest surviving, dying 56 years after its signing. He was born on September 19, 1737 in Annapolis, Maryland, British America. He was regarded as the wealthiest man in the American colonies when the American Revolution commenced in 1775. He inherited vast agricultural estates and his personal fortune at this time was reputed to be 2,100,000 pounds sterling, the equivalent to £285,023,284 in 2021 (US$375 million). He served as a delegate to the Continental Congress and Confederation Congress. Carroll later served as the first United States Senator for Maryland. (Information and text are from Wikipedia)
