RARE VTG Parker Jotter Black Barrel, Brass Thread, Trough Clip, Late 1955 For Sale

The seller is not anexpert in Parker Jotter Pens. Through research using various Parker Historic websites, the seller has assessed that this is a vintage (circa late 1955) second/third (?) generation, made in USA, Parker Jotter ball pen. The original Parker Jotter was introduced in 1954 and featured a ribbed nylon barrel without a metal tip^^. The V or Trough Clip was used in the earliest Parker Jotter pens before the Parker Inverted V-Clip (introduced in 1956) and the Parker Arrow clip introduced in 1958^^. The domed/round push button actuator was flattened and the Parker logo added in 1973^^. The plastic barrel and metal tip were added to production in late 1955^^.

The pen being sold in this listing features and includes the following:

1. Brushed stainless steel cap withbrass threads;
2. Slightly domed/roundpush button actuator (no logo);
3. Early model Jotter V or Trough Clip (not arrow or inverted V);
4. Black plastic barrel (not nylon) with metal tip (introduced in late 1955);
5. Late 1950’s (estimate), DRY (does not work), T-Ball Jotter medium blue ink refill (made in USA);
6. New (2024) Parker QUINKflow medium black refill (made in France);
7. Parker Pen (1998) users manual;
8. Unbranded, new black pen presentation box with magnetic clasp lid;
9. Unbranded, new black velveteen pen sleeve.

The pen shows signs of use and wear. The pen clip has deep scratches and wear. The barrel’s metal tip shows signs of wear and delaminating of the chrome at the tip. The barrel and cap show light scratches from use, but no cracks. The push button top is rounded, domed, with no logo arrow and wear along the button top shaft from use. The pen mechanically works without any issues.
When the pen was “picked”, it had the vintage, dry, T-Ball Jotter medium blue ink refill installed. Attempts were made to see if the ink would flow, but they were unsuccessful. This vintage, dry ink cartridge is provided with the pen for the buyer to asses, but it does not work at the time of this listing.
A brand new, ParkerQUINKflowmedium black refill was installed in the pen and tested to operate and write smoothly. The pen is shipped with this ink cartridge installed in the pen.
The pen is shipped inside a new, unbranded, black velveteen pen sleeve to protect it during shipping. The new, black, unbranded cardboard box is felt lined with a ribbon with gold thread highlights. The top of the box has a magnetic clip to keep the top closed. The pen and dry refill are shipped inside this box.
This is a used, vintage item and is not new. Please review photos for condition of item. Shows signs of use with typical scratches and blemishes of a vintage item. Sold As-Is/As-Found.
