Rare "Type 2" Stanley No. 46 Skew Combination Plane Body - 80% - mjdtoolparts:
$244.50

An ORIGINAL MAIN STOCK OR BOTTOM for a Stanley No. 46 skew blade combination plane, Type 2, by STANLEY. This plane is complete with the original brass front depth gauge locking screw and the original cutter bolt and wing nut. Approximately 80% of the original black japan finish remains on this early version of the No. 46, which was the last type to use dovetailed nickers on the sole, which were replaced by nickers locked by screws on the "Type 3" version. The handle "horn" is missing a few slivers on the side, but the long, sweeping form of the handle "horn" was the last of this style, which was made progressively shorter with each new version. It is absent any other chips, cracks or apologies and could be put directly to use restoring a battered body version of the "Type 2" No. 46. Length = 10.75 Inches (Ref. Id No.: 383316) [Free Shipping]
