Rare U.S. Musket Model 1862 Socket Bayonet H&P Conversion Hewes & Phillips For Sale

Rare U.S. Musket Model 1862 H&P Conversion Socket Bayonet measuring 21\" overall with a 18\" blade, and inside diameter of socket, .810\". The Hewes and Phillips conversion was very similar to that of the Model 1854 Remington Conversion, but the blade is one inch longer and the shank is .25\" longer also. This model did not have a ring clasp and has a \"T\" Mortise cut into the 3\" socket. An excellent example with only light age patina, minimal wear. See photos.
