R.M. stands stamp of cutter Richard Mayer.Silver Medal for Merit- Friedrich II- from 1908- 1912 medals were made from silver.During the WW1 numerous of soldiers were awarded with the medal so they started to made them from Silver Plated metal.Medal is 38 mm wide and this one is around 28g by my scale,on oficially Page for German order stand that White Metal Medals are 17.5grams weight and Silver are 29g.The medal looks like bronze to me not even silver not even white metal,it have some stamp on the rim that I have pictured. Ribbon I didnt touch this one was on when I have bought it,there were trace of black thread, like its been taken off from medal clasp(barr)
