One of a series of three designs from the Edwin Bennet pottery in Baltimore. Edwin was the father of the US pottery industry and his pottery output is very well known.
This rare version shows a bust of Admiral Dewey, A head on image of his flagship U.S.S. Olympia and the flags of the USA and free Cuba (an anomalyas Dewey served in the Philippines not Cuba!). Two ribbons are below. One records the date of the Battle of Manila and the other quotes Dewey "Kepp cool and obey orders."
On the reverse the is the EB Co mark with "warrantied" and "patent applied".
No cracks or chips. Crazed but only if you look closely!
