Super RARE Tick with Dried Blood in Burmite Amber Fossil Dinosaur Age For Sale

This is a fully polished piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber that contains a super rare, hard tick that appears to have dried blood inside it along with an interesting, long legged beetle from the Cretaceous Period when dinosaurs would have been on the Earth including T-Rex and Triceratops. Could the tick have fed on dinosaur blood?

Geological studies have dated Burmite (Burmese) amber to be around 100 million years old.

According toSecrets of a Lost World: Dominican Amber and Its Inclusionsby Rafael Jie Chiang Wu, ‘ticks are classified into 2 families, hard ticks and soft ticks. They are rarely found in amber. Normally they parasitize mammals, birds, and reptiles. They are annoying pests and some are disease vectors. The number of mite and tick species rivals that of insects, and there may be thousands more to be identified.’

The piece itself weighs 0.7 grams with approximate dimensions of 1.8 cmlength by1.2 cm width and 0.4 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch.

Burmese (Burmite)amber is difficult to acquire and has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaurs.

When one realizes that this amber has been dated to around 100 million years old, it is something to see insects from that time.

Please note that thesaltwater test to identify real from fake amber is not reliable. The saltwatertest claims that real amber will float in saltwater while fake amber will sink.

However, many ambersources or even specimens will not float in saltwater as their botanical(plant) composition as well as fossil inclusions are such that they are moredense than saltwater and so sink. I do not sell fake amber. My response shouldhelp demonstrate this.
