This is a an original WW2, totally untouched, 1939 Dated Liner, 1942 dated British Army Steel Helmet with original Camo Net fitted as worn by the British Army in WW2 and typical of a D-Day, Normandy worn helmet.
The shell is painted inside and out in its original green paint and is in superb condition.
The helmet has stamped in maker marks and date just above the helmet strap bale on one side. It has the maker mark of \'BS\' which is the Willam Beardmore Steel Company of Glasgow. Above that and to the right is the date \'1942\' over a \'I\' for a Mark I Helmet.
The original liner with the cushion is nicely stamped with the 1939 date, a very large size of size 7 1/4 and is made by \'BMB\' which isBriggs Motor Bodies, Dagenham, London. The liner shows wear from constant use in thewar. This is a helmet that has been there and seen action.
It has its original Mk. 1 elasticated chin strap present in working order.
Fitted with an original green string camouflage net, tied under the rim.
A lovely 100% authentic and original WW2 Helmet that would be difficult to better and has that been there in action look.
