Accompanied by a detailed letter of provenance from the original recipient that reads‘I met Paul McCartney in August 1963 on St Helier beach in Jersey, Channel Islands. The Beatles were playing 4 concerts at the Springfield Ballroom on August 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th. At that time I was 14 years old and on holiday with my parents, staying at the Hotel de France in Jersey. We were on St Helier beach taking part in the sports day organizedby the hotel. I spotted a group of guys walking further along the beach, dressed in dark clothing, but recognizedthe distinctive \'Beatle style haircuts straight away. I immediately spotted Paul (my all time favorite). Dropping out of the games, I charged back to my parents shouting for a pen and some paper for the Beatles autograph\'! Some of the other kids overheard my demands and had other parents \'scabbling round\' for pen and paper. Realizingthey had been spotted, the guys started to move away, but I charged over to Paul like a crazy person and asked for his autograph. He asked me if l would be going to the concert, but unfortunately my parents didn\'t think I was old enough and I hadn\'t managed to persuade them to take me. I was desperate to try for the autographs of John, Ringo and George but they quickly moved away and were already surrounded by other fans. Returning to school after the Summer holidays I was the envy of most of my friends when I produced the autograph. I only wish I could have managed to get them all. In 1963 we didn\'t have mobile phones or the small \'point and shoot\' cameras we have today and my Father would never have trusted me with his Brownie box camera. However managing to get Paul\'s autograph meant the absolute world to me and I have carefully treasured it to this day’.
