From the estate of French actress Lilo de la Passardiere: Two signed handwritten letters from singer, comedian Sophie Tucker (1887-1966). One letter is written on her personal stationary and dated Dec. 13, 1953. In this letter Sophie requests show tickets from Lilo for her children. The other written on Baker Hotel stationary dated April 8, 1956 congratulates Lilo on her stage performance and thanks her for the gift of perfume she has sent. Both are in good vintage condition with some expected light aging/yellowing, a couple folds, and indentation from a paperclip at top left corner. They measure approx. 7"x10.5", 6"x9". Known for her powerful delivery of comical and risqué songs, she was one of the most popular entertainers in the U.S. during the first half of the 20th century.
