ULTRA-RARE PRE-PRO LEMBECK & BETZ YOU LUCKY DOG FRAMED LITHOGRAPH JERSEY CITY NJ For Sale

Up for your consideration is this rarely seen and even more rarely available non-stock pre-prohibition beer advertisement lithograph by Lembeck & Betz Eagle Brewing Company out of Jersey City, New Jersey known by collectors as the 'YOU LUCKY DOG' lithograph . T he brewery operated under said name from 1890 - 1920 when the passing of Prohibition made it illegal to manufacture and sell alcoholic beverages within the United States. The brewery would operate under said name for one more year following the repeal of Prohibition in 1933. The print features a Collie with a newspaper sitting back in a reclining chair with a cigar in its mouth whose label has a heart. On the side table next to the dog is a gold colored serving tray with an opened bottle of Lembeck & Betz American Club Beer next to a flared glass of beer and a blue ashtray. Other items on the table include a smoking pipe, two matchsticks, a box of CLARO cigars, a bag of what could be loose tobacco, three playing cards, two books, a blue jar and what looks like a Tiffany lamp. This print represents one of the rarest and most desirable breweriana items I have sold over the last few months. A truly special print that rarely surfaces and would make a glorious addition to any Garden State breweriana enthusiast's collection particularly one centered around Jersey City, N.J. breweries.
