Awesome bonded bronze sculpture of a WWI era U.S. Marine entitled "First to Fight" by artist John Chalk dated 1997.
This sculpture depicts the Marine standing proud in full uniform and leather coat holding a pair of gloves in one hand. It has a two-tone bronze patina and excellent sculptural detail. The base is embossed with the USMC Eagle, Globe and Anchor emblem and reads "FIRST TO FIGHT - U.S. MARINES - 1775". The back is inscribed "© 1997 - J. CHALK". The sculpture is mounted to a dark wood base with the John Chalk gold label on the bottom.
It stands 12" tall by 5" wide by 4" deep, and weighs 3.5 lbs.
John Chalk was a USMC combat artist and has gained fame for his numerous military sculptures. This is one of his very best. Make it yours.
