Vintage Ilocano Knife Sinan Kapitan Gen Antonio Luna hand crafted; Brass; Unique For Sale

Vintage Ilocano Sinan Kapitan Knife; acquired from local retired Air Force officer estate; estimated to be mid 20th century; appears to be hand produced and of better quality than the mass produced examples that can be found online with much less detail in the hilt carving; without a brass guard or brass inlays to carving; less detailed sheath and lessor quality blade. Some additional background on this type of knife and history can be easily found online.

• Knife is Ilokano (Ilocano) in manufacture, probably from Ilocos Sur. The hilt is called a sinan kapitan or Antonio Luna. The sheath is also typical Ilokano work.

• Antonio Luna was a Revolutionary War hero, and General of the Philippine Army in the Philippines-American War at the end of the 19th C. You can find more history about these knifes online and in ethnographic arms and armor forums.

Reference all TWENTY TWO (22) PHOTO's for condition. Items are pre owned in used condition.

• Any significant noticeable small scuffs or wear have BLUE circles in pictures.

• The knife and blade has scuffs and scratches from storage/handling but is in overall excellent condition. Appears to have been handled but NOT used.

• The sheath has very little amount of wear from storage of knife and age.
