Vintage Midcentury EX-LAX Money Clip Gold Emblem Genuine Advertising MCM 1960s For Sale

Here's a difficult to pass (up) piece of true Americana: an EX-LAX poo-bah's money clip. This genuine nugget of history shows authentic signs of age and wear, yet the clear yellow diamond-ish looking stone still sparkles in line with the general motif. This item measures about 2 1/4" long by 1 1/4" wide. It has two small folding appurtenances - it would not "do" to be walking around with this thing and be having dirty fingernails. They both say, in tiny print "Imperial Stainless." The back of the clip itself is stamped "Anson" and "Pat. 3,049,772" There are authentic signs of use to the chrome finish - the brass is visible along the edges - and there is a pinpoint of surface wear, pictured. As found. The money clip has made the last owner so fortunate that the spring will not bind tightly to an unsatisfyingly small amount of money so the next fortunate owner will want to keep it bulked up. Included free, for what it is worth, is a glob of funny money for this purpose, not that you personally would need it. A faux presentation box from a notable jeweler is included to make the passing of the gift even more smooth. The new owner will surely be pleasantly impacted.

This treasure would be suitable for anyone with a sense of humor and would also make a particularly unforgettable splash as a thoughtful bar mitzvah, birthday, or just a gift. If this doesn't win the award for the best gift ever, it's still a solid number two.
