This vintage pair of original Pennsylvania WPA District 15 Indian Art posters is a must-have for any collector of historical memorabilia. These posters were created during the Great Depression as part of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) which aimed to provide work for artists, writers, and other creatives under the museum extension project. The posters feature stunning depictions of Native American culture and are a testament to the artistry of the time. The pair included are marked plate no 1 and plate no 3 taken from a 5 plate set. The people depicted in the art are primitive, wearing animal pelts and wielding primitive weapons such as a bow and tomahawk. The colors have retained their vibrancy over the years only becoming slightly more dull than they were originally. Due to the material of the pieces there is a bit of wear along the bottom and sides of the pieces. They are slightly more brown in areas that were originally white, as well as having a bit of staining throughout due to bits of exposure to dampness. The back side of them is where the flaws are noticeable. The pieces individually measure about 23” tall and 18” wide.
