This vintage recipe box is a treasure trove of Louisiana Cajun and Creole cuisine. It contains hand-written and clipped recipes that have been passed down through generations. The box is made of sturdy metal in a rectangular shape, with a printed finish that adds to its charm.
The box is perfect for collectors of decorative items or those who love to cook. It comes with customized features and can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. This original piece is a true representation of the culture and cuisine of Louisiana.
The curator of this box was a lifetime homemaker. She attended school in New Orleans in the Upper 9th Ward, where she met her husband. They moved to the Northshore of New Orleans to a town called Mandeville, where they lived in the Beau Chen neighborhood and grew their family. This box is only a portion of her recipe collection - I’ve posted some cookbooks in my shop and there are more to come.
