Offering an amazing 16mm Cine Projector model D from Kodak. And two heart warming films from the Chicago area between the late 1920's and early 1940's.
The box is marked Jam Handy Explainer s.v.e. Pat No. 1434215 Jam Handy Picture Service 6227 Broadway Chicago.
This unit is 100% guaranteed to work. I've fully serviced the machine and it plays perfectly. The cord, lamp and projector are all in very good condition. I replaced the 45* mirror and fully serviced the machine. The only minor defect is some paint lose on the side. (see photos please).
Now for something very special.
This projector came with 2 home movies when I got it. The first film (the shorter one above) is just precious and shows a baby girl in the late 1930's to early 1940's. Its her 2nd birthday and she's seen playing at the park and at the beach. Shes wearing a cute little bonnet and you see her with her parents everywhere they went that day. My wife was almost in tears when I showed here this priceless moment. But, it gets better. The 2nd film is in poor condition but I was able to play it in itsentirety. This film dates to the late 1920's somewhere near Chicago and Lake Michigan. Its set in the winter and there's snow at the beach. The father, mother and baby are going to the zoo and having a day out. There are severalstrikingmoments in the film. The first is a skyline shot of Chicago (I believe). Shot from a very tall building overlooking all thebusinessesand homes in the city. It seems like a scene fromSherlockHolmes as the camera pans the skyline filled with smoke laden chimneys. The 2nd is at a zoo and you see a few animals but whats striking is the fact that mom and dad are obviously upper class and very wealthy. Mon is wearing a mink stole and dad is dressed in the finest winter attire. There's a mansion on a hilltop just behind them as they visit the zoo. I cant say for certain butI'mfairly sure the child in the first film is the parent in the 2nd. There are other amazing scenes but you'll have to see those for yourself. Good luck.
Please note that both films are fragile. The shorter and newer film Im sure can be played again several times. The older film needs to be recorded digitally to save its content. Im sure it could be played one ore two more times butthat'sit. Its just to delicate.
