WWII Keystone F-8 Aerial Reconnaissance Camera with Original Case and Extras For Sale

Amazing piece of WWII history and photography technology. Very large and heavy F-8 recon camera used in aircraft to capture troop movements, installations, airfields, etc. Two wooden handles enabled the user to aim the camera. Comes in its original carrying case along with 7 film rolls (several still have film in them), a red glass plate that I assume serves as a filter, and a small paper/card tool for determining formulas for film and developing paper.

Case measures 15 1/2 x 14 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches. Case has a stamped anchor on the top flanked by J and S. The front of the case reads, "Camera, Aircraft Type F-8 15" Handle With Care." There are also two affixed labels with one stating that the case and its contents were "preserved with dehydrating agent" after the war in 1950.

The camera is black with steel knobs. It has two small manufacturer's plates denoting it was made by Keystone. Unfortunately, the front lens is missing as shown in the pics. Two wooden handles help with aiming and carrying. A flip up sight with cross hairs is mounted to the top.

The circular formula card mentioned above is dated 1944 and it has some minor water damage.

Overall, an impressive camera. It is quite heavy (32 pounds). When checking out, choose either USPS Priority Mail or FedEx as one may be less expensive than the other depending on where you live.
