Lovely Victorian Wave Crest Hand Painted Celadon Dresser Box.
Dimensions - 4" tall X 4 3/4" wide
Hand painted top with a rose in full bloom and budding flowers. There are also some hand painted pearlescent droplets on top which standup from the finish, a very unique touch. I have not seen one like this.Original brown silk liner which is a bit shredded. I didn't want to take an original feature out and will leave that to the new owner to decide on. The feet have seen the test of time, one is remaining, and it is in the outward position. See photos. I didn't even notice it until I looked at the close up of the bottom. The feet are not obviously missing when looking at the piece from above of the side. To a antique dealer or pristine collector, of course they would note the flaws. There is also some paint flaking on the gold leaf, see photos. The marked indent on the back is an imperfection when the piece was made, it's in the glass. I cleaned it out and looked at it with a high res camera, not a crack. There are no marks or hairlines on the interior either.
