This is an original gold tone metal Wells Fargo Agent Old West Sherriff's Star Badge lapel pin/badge/tie tack (with a butterfly clasp on back) It is appropriately 0.75" wide point to point. My partner worked for Norwest Bank when it became Wells Fargo (I want to say 1997) and this was one of the the things that was in his "Branch Manager" work case/box. He has since passed away so I can't ask about it. You may know more than I do if you are looking at this.
