Winnie the Pooh 1968 Vintage Kodak Slide Walt Disney Productions Oscar Winner Winnie the Pooh 1968 Vintage Kodak Slide Walt Disney Productions Oscar Winner

Timeless Walt Disney Treasures from Saturday\'s Toys presents...  an original 1968 Kodachrome slide from the photographic archives of the historic Walt Disney Studio in Burbank, California.

Pictures a classic scene of Winnie the Pooh with his \"Hunny\" pot and a cast of characters from \"Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day.\"  The slide is dated September 1968 (indicating that it was produced for publicity related purposes prior to the film\'s nationwide release on December 20, 1968 (to accompany Disney\'s live-action film release of The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit).

The image depicts the scene in the film when Pooh falls asleep with his \"hunny\" jar and dreams of the \"Heffalumps and Woozles\" that are featured in this segment of the film.  The song used in this scene was also written by Robert B. Sherman and Richard M. Sherman, Academy Award winning composers for Walt Disney\'s 1964 Oscar winning production of Mary Poppins.

This film was the recipient of the 1968 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film (Cartoon) as held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown Los Angeles on April 14, 1969.  Released theatrically to accompany the live-action film \"The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit\", the first animated film in Disney\'s Pooh franchise was in production during the final year of Walt Disney\'s life, and thus became the final Academy Award personally presented to Walt Disney as producer of the film.  The award was introduced by \"The Pink Panther\" and was presented by actor Tony Curtis.  The Oscar was posthumously accepted in Walt\'s memory by Wolfgang (\"Woolie\") Reitherman (1909 - 1985), one of Walt\'s famed \"Nine Old Men\" and the Director of Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day.

Noted as slide # F-18; the slide is referenced with c.WDP (Walt Disney Productions); dated September 1968.  Also noted with \"Poo\" written above copyright mark (possibly indicating that even within the company, the character\'s correct name was still new to some who were working on publicity for the film).  Slide is in an original mount for Kodachrome Duplicate / Made by Kodak.  Also references in faint yellow imprint:  \"Made in USA\" with US Patent number referenced adjacent to date imprint.

Slide is somewhat worn but still holds its color perfectly; with various notations found on the reverse side of the paper mount.
