For Sale: A postcard with a night view across the water of Young’s Million Dollar Pier in Atlantic City, NJ. The publisher is unknown. Size: 5 3/8” x 3 1/2”.
Interesting details: The Helmar Turkish Cigarette sign at the foot of the pier, the buildings on the pier including Col. Young’s marble mansion toward the end.
Identifiers: “Moonlight over the Million Dollar Pier, Atlantic City N.J.” (title), divided back
Postal Markings: “Atlantic City, N.J. OCT 25 12 - M 1909” (cancellation), “I”,”C” (on killer), <stamp> (1¢ Franklin 1908).
Condition: used posted – one corner is slightly creased and there’s a bit of corner, edge, and surface wear, some light marks on the back, including a pencil notation, and the message and address written in a neat 19th century hand. Please see the scans.

Descriptions:I try to provide accurate descriptions but I’m not an expert -- my assessments can be off and internet sources may not be accurate. I try to list defects that are hard to see in a scan, but I might miss something, so do zoom in on the scans.
Scans/Photos:These are the most important part of the description. You need to examine them closely. If you see something you don’t like, there’s a good chance it’s still going to be there when you open the package. Still, it might be just a scanning artifact or lighting. The scanner can accentuate color differences making toning and soiling appear significantly more pronounced than they do when the card is in hand. Definitions:“Antique” means at least 100 years old (pre-1921), while “Vintage” means at least 50 years old (pre-1971). Often, this is just my estimate and should not be taken as an expert assessment.
Stamps and Postal Markingsare described generically to avoid outraged returns. Assume what’s being offered is the most common variety. I usually include a close-up scan to help you decide, but you’ll have to assign catalog numbers yourself.

Shipping & Handling Options:USPS Ground Advantage has tracking while First Class does not. The delivery times are about the same. I try to consolidate shipping for multiple orders. Delivery Time: The time given near the top of this listing is an estimate – not mine and it is not guaranteed. The USPS does not guarantee delivery times for the First Class, Ground Advantage, and Priority Mail shipments that I use. The post office works on its own schedule anddelays on their part are always a possibility (particularlyaround the holidays.) There’s rarely an issue with this but be aware.If you tell me your card didn’t show up, you get a refund. But please allow three weeks before filing a missing item claim with .
