you are admiring a super nice example of a pre war rough wear a-2. this jacket is an example of the second contract that rough wear was awarded in 1941, and all of the jackets, like this one were made of goatskin. the jacket is named to r.a. rustman and has \"rusty\" painted on the right upper chest, which is hard to photograph. there are ghost out lines on the epaulets where 2nd louies bars were situated. the jacket has an original to the jacket \"screaming skulls\" patch sewn onto a leather disc which in turn is sewn onto the jacket. the goatskin shell is in very nice supple, and strong condition, showing only surface wear and minor nicks. the hershey bar talon zipper works flawlessly, and has no issues at all. at some point the waistband and knit cuff were replaced professionally, with the proper weight, color and weave all wool knits. the nomenclature label with size 40 label is for the most part clear and crisp. the liner is in way above average condition, showing minor wear through a the collar and bottom front. the is a size 40 label in the front left pocket that is numbered 573, thus making this jacket an early production jacket. the jacket is in no issue, wearable condition, in and out. please read the jacket measurements before offerding, please. chest from pit to pit: 21 1/2\", front length: 22 3/4\", sleeves from the shoulder seam to end of cuff: 24 1/4\", shoulder seam to shoulder seam at the top back: 17 1/2\", back length from the collar stand bottom to the bottom of the knits: 24 3/4\". please view the other aviation articles i have have listed.
