A Rare & Unusual Great War, WW1 1914-1918 Reform Lighting Company \'Begbie\' Military Signalling LampA rare survivor in the form of a military Type B, \'Begbie\' signalling lamp from the World War 1 period, which may be of interest to collectors.The lamp carries a brass name plate marked, \'Lamp Signalling \"B\" Reform Lighting Co 1912 No.6891\'.The articulated carrying handle with wooden hand-grip is intact and the chimney and flue-shutters are all present.The important (and huge!) lens is present as is the paraffin reservoir and burner complete with original wick.These lamps, which are apparently exceedingly rare now, were used by Infantry and Cavalry Regiments since the late 19th Century and continued in use until 1918.Each Infantry battalion was issued with eight of these \'Begbie\' lamps and six were issued to Cavalry Regiments.Here for sale with a low start price and .Do ask questions as required and do please see my other antique art listings and items of interest.
