This sale is for a vintage Shirley Temple composition doll produced in the 1930\'s by the U.S.A. Ideal Toy Corporation. She is wearing her original tagged outfit -a red and white polka dot pleated dancing dress, complete with her original slip, panties, socks, and shoes. The dress has the IDEAL tag with her name embroidered on it and the NRA (National Recovery Administration) eagle logo, which identifies it as one of the earlier Shirley Temple dresses made by IDEAL.Her original mohair wig is in very nice shape with many of its original curls as you can see in the photos. All of herfingers and toes are intact, as are her eyelashes. She has an open mouth with lipstick and four little teeth. She is marked SHIRLEY TEMPLE Cop IDEAL N&T Co. on her head and SHIRLEY TEMPLE 16 on her back. She has sleepy eyes which function well and she measures 16 inches in height.
Her composition has not been restored and is in excellent condition with no lifting, cracking, peeling or other major damage to the composition. Her eyes are nice and clear, not clouded like many Shirley dolls from the era, though they do stick a little when opening/closing. In addition, she has some minor marks on her side from being held on a doll stand and she needs to be strung tighter.
Overall she is a sweet and bright doll and displays nicely! Please look at the photos to help you decide.
This is one of several vintage dolls (including Effanbee, Ideal and more Shirley Temple\'s) I am selling this week, so please check my other listings as I do combine shipping.
