Up for sale is this 11\" long tin friction 1952 Cadillac Series 62 convertible made by Alps Iwaya Toys of Japan in the early 1950s. The car represents a Cadillac Golden 50th Anniversary model designated by the gold insignia on hood and trunk. This highly desirable piece is very detailed and amazingly accurate in it\'s proportions and trimmings. Only Cadillac for 1952 had a small crest on the grill below each headlight and this toy car has just the exact same crests. The car is exceptionally clean and in excellent 100% original condition with all parts intact. There is a strong friction motor as well. A beautiful professionally made reproduction box is included. Finish on the car is a deep raven black which is mirror smooth with no dents, dings or scratches at all. Only a couple minor scuffs mar the otherwise pristine paint. Polished trim all shines like chrome with no tarnish or corrosion but front bumper corners do show a bit of wear. Incredible details abound on the toy such as front wheels that turn in any direction and move up and down with real suspension just like a full size Caddy. The magnificent large white steering wheel is connected to front wheels and turns in either direction along with wheels. The litho interior is faithful to the full size car, and gorgeous dash is a delight to see. Unique to this car are the separate tabbed and highly detailed door panels. Plastic windshield \"glass\" is crystal clear with no shrinkage and still held firmly in place. Glossy gray base has no wear but it may have been professionally repainted at some point. It very well could be original because the rest of the car is that nice but I\'m not absolutely sure. The shiny chrome Alps product tags are all still intact. Rubber tires all have great tire tread with very minimal wear. Tin litho whitewalls are factory lettered with the name Rock Valley and tire size but left front whitewall does exhibit some blight or age corrosion. With whitewall rotated up into fender well it is hardly visible. Tri tone hubcaps are all pristine. Another unique feature to these amazing cars is the rear drive differential turned by the friction motor. Rear wheels spin separately from each other just like a real car. The motor runs like new; long, strong and smooth. The gorgeous box was made by a true artisan who is no longer in business. It has a separate litho label on the lid just like the original. The beautiful box is a fitting tribute to this truly outstanding example of a very hard to find tinplate toy car. It would be an excellent investment grade toy. A wonderful survivor toy made even that much better with a low, low starting offer and .

I am a collector as well as a dealer, and many times have been chagrined to open a box and find a rare vintage toy broken en route. Not due to postal misuse, but by poor and insensitive wrapping. You will not receive toys packed like this from me. All my items are thoughtfully and carefully packed as though I would be mailing them to myself. Prices are set by size and weight. USPS Priority Mail dimensional weight rates will now apply for certain large packages shipped to select zones within the U.S. Priority Mail can be very expensive with an oversize package, as many of my toys require, therefore for those larger items I use Parcel Post which is just as safe and almost as fast.
