This is an original AMERICAN FLYER\"O\" gauge 2-6-2 DIE-CAST STEAM LOCOMOTIVE & TENDER, Circa 1938 or so. It is made to operate on 3-Rail, Lionel type track. The body is all metal. The locomeasures approx. 10.5\" long, while the tender is approx. 6\" long. These locos are notorious for having horrible metal fatigue, but there are no signs of that here and all castings appear to be straight and sound. I have not put power to it, so I have no idea if it runs or not. The wheels do turn reasonably smoothly, but they hang up just a bit every now and then, but still turning the gears, which turn the armature and the wheels are solid, showing no signs of deterioration. I believe that this loco & tender are 100% original. I am selling this wonderful old American Flyer loco & tender \"as-is, as found,\" so PLEASE look the photos over carefully and ask any questions you may have, BEFORE you place a offer.
