Antique 1800\'s Willcox & Gibbs Cast Iron Chain Stitch Hand Sewing Machine Up for sale is this wonderful old iron chain stitch sewing machine by Willcox & Gibbs Co., New York. The serial number is A729005 which dates it to 1875-1880. The machine is 8 34\" tall x 10 1/4\" long 6\" wide and weighs 11 lbs. before packaging. The needle plate is marked Willcox & Gibbs, New York, London Paris, US patent dates and Britain patent dates and has two other shields with markings about stitch sizes and different material. The cast iron wheel turns freely. The foot goes up and down with the foot handle lever. There is a needle, I do not know if it sews. It is missing the round disk that holds the thread on. It has it\'s original Willcox & Gibbs medallion.There is very little paint and gold loss and some scratches. Pictures are part of the description. I will try to answer any questions you might have.Please do not pay until you receive my invoice as postage quote is not correct. Shipping weight will be around 15 lbs.
