Antique 1860\'s Wet Plate Camera Lens w Exterior Ratchet Etc For Sale

An original antique circa 1860\'s brass wet plate camera lens with a exterior ratchet type focus and having a slot in the top of the barrel of the lens for stops. The lens measures approximately 4\" long and has a 2 1/4\" diameter to the light shade with the glass lens itself measuring 1 5/8\". The measurement of diameter across the back is 2\" which has threads on the outside and the thread on the ring just beyond which moves with the ratchet mechanism is 2 1/4\". The lens is unmarked as far as maker. The lens is in very nice over all condition with no scratches or fogging to the lens glass itself and the brass is free of any dents, splits or restoration. The lens also comes with a leather bound yellow glass filter which fits on the light shade and appears to be of the same period and was found with the lens. This early antique camera lens is completely fresh to the market from a old estates attic.
