Here we have for sale, , anantique surveying transit. AHeller & Brightly PhiladelphiaBrass transit serial number4852 from I think 1876. This one looks great with a great patina on the brass.Wooden box is in good shape, for its age. Wooden case is8.5 inches by12.5inches by 13.5inches.Optics seem clear and focuses scope is 11 1/2 inches long.This looks to be complete, and all adjustments work. Compass is5 1/2inches in diameter. The transit is14 1/4inches tall when scope is level. All level bubbles are good.I am no expert on these pieces of surveying equipment so ask any questions and look at photos. A really nice piece for any collection. As this old and used it is sold as is.This will be packed carefully and boxed. Shipping fees will include insurance.

There is not a leather case with this item. That was a mistake on my part, sorry for any confusion this caused. There are some leather pieces on two sides of the wooden case.
