We are listing today a great Antique 19th century Stoneware Ovoid Alkaline Drip Glaze Large Handled Southern Pottery Storage Jar Crock. This jar is in Excellent Condition with no chips, cracks, and or repairs. Very slight manufactured roughness & light crazing throughout. You can refer to the pictures we guarantee 100% you will be more than happy with the exceptional condition. The jar measures 14\" tall x 6 7/8\" at the top rim x 11 3/4\" wide x 6 1/2\" at the base and weighs approximately 12lb. Wonderful early ovoid form along with a great hand tooled slight rolled top rim & great hand applied ear handles. Wonderful glossy alkaline glaze with great dripping. The jar has no marks, the form & clay coloring on the base lead us to believe it is an example of South Carolina Pottery dating from the early to mid 1800\'s. Wonderful somewhat thin walled construction, you can see and feel all the potter wheel rings, more pronounce on the inside. Exceptional Alkaline Glaze.
