This is a very nicely made boxed surveyor's compass .The metal dial is marked ANDREW J. LLOYD & Co. BOSTON MADE IN FRANCE . It comes in 3 pieces in the original fitted wood box . It is made of lacquered brass . There are 2 upright sight pieces attached to the dial . The other 2 pieces one of which is ball jointed connect to mount to tripod . The dial measures just under 5" in diameter . With the uprights up and tripod adaptor attached the whole unit is 8 1/2" high . The compass appears to be working and in very good condition . Overall a great antique instrument . High offer pays postage .
