Brass and brass plated with glass level tube.
There\'s a metal plaque on it saying, \"Buff & Buff Mfg Co, Boston\" with the serial number of \"24549\". There\'s a metal plate on the case top that says, \"Buff\" and some letters I can\'t make out.
The scope part measures 18-1/2\" long. It stands about 8-1/4\" tall. The round base with the threads has an inside width of 3-1/2\".
This level and case is heavy, weighing 17-1/2 pounds before packing.
The glass tube has no cracks and there\'s liquid and a bubble inside. No rust. All the knobs and mechanics move and turn fine. No dents, cracks or breaks. I don\'t see any missing screws. Front lens is intact with no chips. There\'s scattered brass plating loss on the upper scope part.
The case is strong and secure. The hinges work fine. There\'s no key for the case. There are two hold-down wood and felt pieces missing from the inside case top on either side of the label. Inside case edge has a 2\" wood chip. The case front may be missing two closing clasps.
This level has been kept very well over the years and will display nicely.
