Antique Figural Revolutionary Soldier Boy Gun & Dog Bradley Hubbard OIL LAMP Product DescriptionPlease wait for invoice number 2 reflecting insurance coverage before making payment. THANK YOU!CIRCA: 1880\'s-1890\'s
Fantastic figural oil lamp be believe to be made by the Bradley and Hubbard Company, but no visible markings are apparent. It has that B&H quality. The burner adjusting knob is P&A and Made in America. The black marble base is covered in felt and we have chosen to leave it and not remove it to look for a manufacturers mark.
The figure, a young boy, looks very much like a Revolutionary War soldier. At his right side is his rifle, and at his left his trusty dog. On his hip is a canteen and a cartridge bag to carry his ammo. I am unsure if the figure is a gold gilded spelter or brass. It is non ferrous. The font is quite interesting. A thin compressed sphere with that is acid etched/frosted and has cut to clear circular patterns. Probably Boston Sandwich glass. A really neat lamp for the consummate collector of 19th Century American lighting.
CONDITION REPORT: Very good - Excellent condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. Very superficial wear commensurate with age. It does not appear to have seen much use if any at all. The inside of the font is devoid of any oil residue. Quite a heavy lamp.
DIMENSIONS: 15\" tall.
