Antique Gilt Brass Eight-Draw Monocular Spy Glass by Berge Ramsden London c 1805:
$667.00

This is an antique eight-draw monocular spy glass, signed around the eyepiece \"Berge, London, late Ramsden\". Interestingly, the first two words are in a different hand than second two words. The draws are gold plated brass and the body tube is engine turned. The field lens is 1 1/2 inches but has been replace and is loose in the tube. The whole measures 4 3/4 x 2 inches fully extended.Mathew Berge took over the workshop of Jesse Ramsden, his employer, on the latter\'s death in 1801.I will be selling a collection of approximately thirty five opera glasses, spy glasses, prospect glasses, and monoculars over the next few weeks. I am happy to combine on shipping and all items are sent via insured Priority Mail, with signature confirmation where required..
