Recent Gold Rush California area estate sale find:
Offered is a wonderful Victorian era draftsman/architect set.
Stanley London was founded by W. F. Stanley in 1853 at Great Turnstile, Holborn. Additional shops at 3-4 Great Turnstile and 286 High Holborn were established a couple of years later. This set looks to be complete and is in like new condition, the instruments appear to be barely used. All of the instruments are signed either \"Stanley London\" or \"Stanley\". They are made of German silver (electrum) / stainless steel and brass. You can remove the ray to expose a second layer that has a protractor, extra lead, eraser, and extra compass-like tools. The brass plaque on the top has the name: BERNARD MOISER. There is a WW1 British officer with the same name, and this could very well be the set he took to war.
