OLD ANTIQUE VTG Ca 1920\'s EMERSON TYPE 29645 PARKER BRASS BLADE OSCILLATING ELECTRIC FAN
This offering is for an original antique Emerson Type 29645 Electric Fan. The fan features brass blades and an iron cage, the tag on top of the motor states \"EMERSON THE EMERSON ELECTRIC MFG CO NEW YORK ST LOUIS VOLTS 110 TYPE 29645 CYCLES 60 SPEED (left blank) NO. N79161 FOR ALTERNATING CURRENT PATENTED\". The fan measures app. 14.5\" in overall height to the top of the cage, the cage itself measures app. 9.5\" in diameter, the blades measure app. 9\" in diameter. The fan is marked \"EMERSON REG US PAT OFF\" on the brass tag on the front of the cage. The brass has not been cleaned or polished in years and we will leave the decision to do so or not to the new owner. The fan runs well on two of the three speed settings but need a push on the blades to get it started. The oscillator seems to work but each time is swings to the left the motor stops and will not restart until it rotates back again. There must be a short somewhere in the wiring between the motor and the the base I suppose. The cord needs to be replaced, the plug is new. One of the S shaped pieces is missing from the cage and another one or two are loose at one end. The cage is also slightly a bit out of shape. There is typical minor loss to the painted surfaces as shown in our close-up photo\'s. Lastly, if you plan on using the fan I would certainly think it should have a complete cleaning prior to your actually using it. The fan only need a bit of minor attention to get it looking great but will be beautiful once properly taken care of. If you like early fans this one is sure to fit the bill and will make an excellent addition to your collection!!
