BALDWIN COMPOUND LOCOMOTIVE BUILDER PLATE - SOUTHERN PACIFIC For Sale

Baldwin Compound Locomotive No. 3002 - According to the Lake Forest College the \"Southern Pacific 4-4-2 steam locomotive no. 3002 was the third of 16 in the A1-class, built by Baldwin in 1902. It pulled passenger trains until it was scrapped, sometime between 1923 and 1930.\"The plate dimensions are 9 1/2\" length x 7 3/4\" wide x 1/4\" thick. I purchased the plate many years ago from a man who found it in the Sacramento area. It was buried for many years and does have some corrosion. It is made out of brass and was gently cleanedwith simple green and then oiled. It has some pitting of the metal on the \"B\" in Baldwin and the \"P\" in Patented June 25, 1889. It is also slightly bent below the word Sept. but retains its original curvature. Please contact me if you have any questions or need additional photos. Thanks for looking.
