AwesomeBEADED KNIFE SHEATH. This is super rare, collectible Native American Artifact. Authentic Sioux beaded knife holder. Made from very supple, brain tanned buckskin or white deerskin leather. The leather is made by smoking it in leaves buried in the forest to get it to be soft like this. The fringe is NOT commercially tanned, this is Native American hand tanned leather, it\'s softer, very rare, & can be expensive. Including the long leather sinew strap, this measures 21.5\" long to the end of the long hand cut handle. The knife holder section itself, without the strap but including the long fringe, is 11\" long. The beaded knife sheath section, to the tip sans the fringe, to the knife handle tip measures about 9 inches. The design is original Sioux. Traditional Sioux colors in the beadwork, which is very tight, obviously made by an experienced artist: Navy Blue, White & Forest Green antique Venetian glass seed beads. This is museum quality.
