Beautiful Eagle Head Sword C. 1820-30 For Sale

A beautiful Eagle Head sword from the period of the 1820s-1830s in remarkable condition. The blade retains all of its original blue and gold wash with some evidence of surface rust which should be carefully treated. The very clean straight blade measures 31 3/4 inches.The engraved brass scabbard is in excellent condition and does not suffer from the usual dents inflicted on these items. I ran my fingers up and down to see if I could detect any surface variation and found one tiny spot which is virtually invisible to the eye, but it appeared to be a slight impression. I just did it again while writing this listing and cannot detect it at all. The bone handle has the usual couple of hairline cracks but nothing too terrible. The guard is slightly loose from the rest of the grip, but only slightly. I only mention this in full disclosure as it does not detract from how impressive this piece really is.
