Up for sale is thishard plastic Sweet Sue doll produced by American Character in the 1950s. She has a beautiful face and is in excellent condition. This lovely doll belongs to a grandmother who has decided to sell her since all her grandchildren are boys.

Condition: The doll is in wonderful condition as evidenced by the photos. I could only find one small flaw which is a small scrape on the back of her upper left, otherwise she is excellent.

Face coloring: She has beautiful skin tones and delicate facial features. She has a nice blush to her cheeks, red painted lips, painted lower lashes and eyebrows. There are no marks or scuffs on her face.

Eyes: She has blue sleep eyes that open and close easily. She has individual upper eyelashes.

Hair color & condition: She has a reddish brown glued-on wig styled in her original set of pigtails. It looks good as shown in photos.

Body, Arms & Legs: The body and head are hard plastic. There is a light blush on the back of each hand and on each knee. The doll is nicely strung, easily stands alone and holds a pose. There are no cracks or marks on her body or face (except the flaw on her arm mentioned above).

Outfits: The doll comes withfive custom made outfits and two extra skirts as shown in photos. She is photographed in a red gingham check cotton dress tied with a wide red ribbon at the waist. The dress has a peter pan collar, a small pocket on the front with two button closures. The doll has white cotton panties trimmed in lace. She wears white faux suede shoes and white socks. She is also photographed in denim overalls with a matching red plaid blouse and red faux suede shoes. The other outfits include a yellow/blue checkered dress, a bold red polka dot blouse and pants, a yellow blouse and skirt with suspenders, a turquoise floral skirt and green polka dot skirt.The clothes include the original six red/blue wirehangers.

Trunk: The wooden trunk is covered in red faux allegator paper. All the corners are reinforced with metal brackets. The hinges and hardward are all in good working condition. There is a key lock, but I don\'t have the key so I keep it unlocked. There is an interesting "Fly TWA Constellation" original sticker as part of the original decoration. The trunk measures 10" x 10" x 18". The blue checkered paper inside the trunk is in pretty good condition and there is one drawer.

Id Marks: There are no ID marks on the doll, but she has been identifed as a Sweet Sue.
